The museum of the Welche land

The
museum of the Welche land (relating the Welche culture) is an old house with its
barn. The parish priest of Freland lived there from the 16th century
to the 18th century. This house, wich belonged to the lords of
Ribeaupierre, was also the place where the peasants came to pay tithes until the
Revolution.
Today
the house has 6 rooms : a kitchen, bedrooms, but also a distillery, a wood
workshop, a cellar to stock cheese and a oven to make bread.
All
things are at their place like in the past.
Located
under the church, the museum is recognizable outside by an old waterwheel coming
from an ancient water mill of Freland.
